What is Electric Zoo?

Electric Zoo is New York City’s premiere electronic music festival. Founded in 2009 and taking place in the beautiful Randall’s Island Park each Labor Day Weekend, Electric Zoo brings a wide variety of the top acts from around the world and across the spectrum of electronic music’s various sub-genres. With over 150,000 fans coming together from around the globe to the world’s favorite city, Electric Zoo is a chance to celebrate and connect.

What are the dates of Electric Zoo New York 2014?

Where is Electric Zoo New York?

Electric Zoo takes place at the scenic and lush, green, Randall’s Island Park, in New York City. Randall’s Island is located in the East River between East Harlem, the South Bronx and Astoria, Queens, and is accessible via ferry, shuttle bus, bicycle, footbridge, and car.

How old do I have to be to attend?

Admission to Electric Zoo New York is strictly for ages 18 and over. To purchase and consume alcohol or to purchase and/or use VIP Experience or Platinum Experience passes, you must be at least 21 years of age. Everyone must show valid government-issued photo ID (photocopies will NOT be accepted).

THE ONLY ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Will I be allowed to leave the venue and re-enter?

No, sorry, once you leave the festival, you cannot re-enter (until the next day of the festival, with your 3 Day pass or single day pass that’s valid for that day).

Will there be any food & beverages available for sale?

Yes, there will be a wide variety of food options, including burgers, hot dogs and pizza, as well as many other local and vegetarian/vegan choices. These include some of our favorite New York City street vendors. There will be a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, plus beer, wine and champagne for those over the age of 21. Mixed drinks/liquor will only be available for purchase in the VIP lounge, which is only accessible by those who purchase a VIP Experience or Platinum Experience.

I have special dietary needs – will there be food for me?

While we make every effort to bring in food vendors with a wide variety of options catering to many different needs, we regret that we cannot guarantee that there will be a vendor to match each and every one of those needs. In keeping with our efforts, we will continue to strive to offer the greatest variety of food choices possible in an effort to something for everyone.

Will there be First Aid on site at the festival?

There are medical aid stations marked with a red cross in the four corners of the park to insure you’re never too far away from help. Check out the map in the center of the booklet that you’ll receive when you get to the festival to familiarize yourself with the location of the medical aid stations which are staffed with emergency medical professionals, and have plenty of water if you need it.

I ordered my ticket from outside the US – how will I get it?

All international orders must be picked up at the Will Call check-in area, located next to the Box Office at the festival main entrance on Randall’s Island. Unless you plan to walk, bike, or arrive by car, you must print out your confirmation email and bring it with you to the ferry or shuttle bus departure point in Manhattan (check your confirmation email to make sure you’re headed to the correct place – either Ferry or Shuttle Bus). Your confirmation email will be checked, and you will be allowed to ride to the festival site on Randall’s Island. From there, you should proceed to the Will Call check-in area. You will need the credit card used to purchase your tickets and your valid photo ID.

What is Will Call?

Located near the main festival entrance on Randall’s Island, Will Call serves as a way for our International guests and those who ordered their passes after the shipping cut-off date to pick up their tickets conveniently when entering the Festival. You will need your printed Will Call receipt, the credit card used to purchase your tickets and your valid photo ID.

How does the Payment Plan work?

You can pay for your Electric Zoo pass in installments over time. Choose the Payment Plan when checking out.

The 50% Down Payment Plan
Make a 50% down payment (plus the full service & shipping charges) at the time of your order
Pay the remaining balance on July 15
Available through June 30
Please allow 2-3 days for payments to be processed and posted to your account. Payment plans are only available at the time of your purchase online.

Important info: PLEASE NOTE: No refunds. Default on payments will result in loss of all payments made up to the time of default and cancellation of your order. However, if your payment is declined you have 10 days to log in to your Flavorus account and update the payment method on file. As a courtesy, Flavorus will contact you via phone and email with instructions on how to bring your payment plan up-to-date. All payments are AUTOMATICALLY billed to the card used at the original time of purchase. You cannot make manual payments. If you need to update your payment information, you can log into your Flavorus account and go to your Purchase History. Click the “Details” button to the right of your order and follow the link on the next page to update the credit card on file. You can also contact Flavorus by writing an email to help@flavorus.com or by calling customer support from 11am to 11pm ET at 1-855-2-FLAVOR (352867).

Tickets will begin shipping by USPS 6 weeks prior to the festival, providing all payments have been successfully processed.

I bought a Sunday (or 3-Day, or Fri/Sun Combo Pak) wristband for Electric Zoo 2013. How do I get a refund?

All refunds for Sunday passes to Electric Zoo 2013 have been issued. When possible, refunds were issued to the credit card originally used for purchase. All other refunds have been issued via check made out to the name on the order and mailed to the billing address on the order via US mail. If you have moved, make sure your address is updated with USPS or your local post office to ensure the check is forwarded to you.

If you haven’t received your refund, or you need to report a problem such as a lost or damaged check, please gather the following information:

Transportation & Directions

How can I get to Electric Zoo?

Electric Zoo festival passes come with round-trip transportation via ferry or shuttle bus, and although there will be very limited parking passes available on Randall’s Island, the ferry and shuttle bus transportation options are very quick and convenient ways to get to and from the island. You can also walk or bike to the festival, or have a taxi or friend drop you off.

How do the Ferry and Shuttle Bus work?

All festival passes include your choice of round-trip transportation to and from Manhattan via the Ferry or Shuttle Bus.

Ferries travel to and from Randall’s Island Park for all three days of the festival throughout the day. Departures will take place from East 35th Street Ferry Landing located at the intersection of East 35th Street at the FDR Drive (click for directions), with ferries running approximately every 15 minutes.

Shuttle Buses will travel to and from Randall’s Island Park for all three days of the festival continuously throughout the day. Departures will take place from East 126th Street at 3rd Avenue in Manhattan. The first bus leaves at 12 noon and the trip takes less than 10 minutes.

If you purchased a festival pass that includes shuttle bus transportation, please be sure to get on these special Shuttle Buses and NOT the city buses operated by the MTA. Look for large yellow signs that say SHUTTLE BUS.

Can I park on Randall’s Island?

Parking on Randall’s Island will be extremely limited and we strongly encourage you to get to Randall’s Island by taking the Shuttle and Ferry options, or by walking or biking. We cannot guarantee that there will be parking spots available to purchase when you arrive on the day of the festival.

There is NO OVERNIGHT PARKING and NO TAILGATING allowed on Randall’s Island.

What about walking or biking to the festival?

You can walk across the footbridge from E. 103rd St. in Manhattan onto Randall’s Island Park. It takes about 20-25 minutes to walk from the Manhattan side of the footbridge to the festival entrance.

Pedestrians can also walk across the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge from Manhattan (about 15 minutes), Queens (about 30 minutes), or the Bronx (about 15 minutes).

BICYCLISTS PLEASE NOTE: Bikes are NOT allowed on the ferry or buses. Bike parking is South of the RFK Bridge Pedestrian Walkway, near the Ferry Landing on Randall’s Island. Follow signs from the main festival entrance.

Electric Zoo Codes of Conduct


Electric Zoo has a zero tolerance policy for the use of illegal drugs. This policy will be strictly enforced.

What are some safe practices I can use at Electric Zoo?

Please take good care of yourself and help watch out for the people around you. If you see someone slip, trip, or overheat, someone who needs medical attention, rehydration, or just a helping hand, please keep the positive vibe alive, and be a friend to a friend in need. Remember that it’s very important to stay hydrated, so take advantage of the free high-speed water refill stations around the festival grounds. Be aware of how much you’re exerting yourself and take breaks from dancing. When you sweat, your body is losing water and you need to replace it to make sure you don’t overheat.

Wristbands


YOU MUST VALIDATE YOUR WRISTBAND BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE FESTIVAL! Everyone is required to watch a public service announcement video in order to validate their wristband and enter the festival.

How do I validate my wristband?

YOU MUST VALIDATE YOUR WRISTBAND BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE FESTIVAL! THIS IS REQUIRED FOR FESTIVAL ENTRY.

In order to validate your wristband, you must first watch a public service announcement video. If you have received your wristband and you are ready to watch the video, go to ElectricZooFestival.com/validate. After the video has ended you will be asked to provide the 6-digit code on the back of your wristband, directly below the barcode. Once you have submitted this information, your wristband will be validated.

How do I register my wristband?

To register your wristband, click here. You will be required to watch a public service announcement video before registering. Once the video ends, you’ll be taken to a page where you will enter your unique wristband ID number (6-digit number on the inside of your wristband). After you enter your unique wristband ID number and agree that to the Electric Zoo Wristband Terms of Use, you can continue with wristband registration and enter your name, email address, and emergency contact info.

What if I lose my wristband before the festival? During the festival?

If you lose your wristband before the festival please email help@flavorus.com or call Flavorus at 1-855-2-FLAVOR.

If you lose or break your wristband during the festival, head to the Info Booth and someone will help you.  Your wristband must be registered for us to be able to assist you!

Treat your wristband the same way you would treat cash. The festival is not responsible for any funds stolen/missing from your wristband if you lose it.

What does it mean that Electric Zoo is a cashless festival? How does that work?

Electric Zoo NY 2014 is a cashless festival. This means you don’t have to worry about walking around the festival with cash – instead you pay for everything with your wristband! Your wristband is equipped with an RFID tag which has an electronic chip embedded in it, and will act as your “bank account” to pay for things during the event.

“EZ Bucks” are the official currency of Electric Zoo. You can load EZ Bucks directly onto your wristband and use it to purchase food, drinks, and merchandise at Electric Zoo.

Once you’ve uploaded credit (EZ Bucks) to your wristband, you will simply tap in at one of the payment points at the various vendors around the site and your purchase is automatically deducted from your account.

Any balance left on your wristband after Electric Zoo will be refunded to you.

Can I purchase food, drinks, or merchandise with cash or credit/debit card at Electric Zoo?

No. Electric Zoo 2014 is a cashless festival. If you have cash or credit/debit card at the festival and you want to buy an item, you will need to load that money onto your Electric Zoo wristband at one of our many top-up stations. You can load money on to your wristband before the festival on our mobile app or by going to ElectricZooFestival.com/register.

Any balance left on your wristband after Electric Zoo will be refunded to you.

How do I set up my wristband for cashless transactions?

You’ll need to create an Intellipay account and then link your wristband to that account. On the back of your wristband, you’ll find the Wristband number (the number below the barcode) and the Cashless Registration ID (Security code to the right of the barcode). After creating your Intellipay account, click on Wristbands and then click “I have a wristband”, then enter those numbers in the corresponding form fields and click “Add”.

How do I add credit to my Electric Zoo wristband?

You can add money to your Electric Zoo wristband in any of the following ways:

  1. In advance online. (Preferred)
  2. Onsite at the festival at Top Up stations.
  3. At any time, by logging onto the Electric Zoo mobile app available for iPhone and Android, clicking the wristband button in the bottom right of the home screen, and adding additional credit.

We strongly encourage adding credit online in advance. If you want to add credit in advance, you can do so by clicking on TOP UP on the the Electric Zoo Intellipay site and following the instructions. That way your wristband will be loaded before the festival.

You can also link your wristband to your credit/debit card on file, which will keep your balance topped up automatically when the balance drops below a certain level. That way you can just set it and forget it, and not have to top up manually multiple times if your balance runs low. Remember, any remaining credit on your wristband will be refunded to you.

You can use any major credit card or your PayPal account to top up in advance.  Credit cards, debit cards, and cash will be accepted at Top Up Stations onsite.

How can I check my balance while at Electric Zoo?

While on the festival site, you can visit a top-up station or a customer service location to check your account balance. Furthermore, if you registered your wristband on your festival account, you can check it online anytime by signing into your account on your computer or smartphone.

What are automatic top-ups?

With automatic top-ups, when the balance on your wristband drops below a certain level, it will automatically be replenished. This takes away the stress of waiting in line to add more money to your wristband so can focus on what really matters, the music.

Any balance left on your wristband after Electric Zoo will be refunded to you.

How secure is the cashless system?

The system is bank-certified (Common Criteria EAL3+ for those that care to know!). All data is encrypted with a minimum of 256 bit. Additionally, no information is stored on the wristband! So, if an RFID wristband is lost or stolen, simply log in to your profile and hit Deactivate next to your wristband, or visit a Customer Service location and it will immediately be cancelled and replaced!

What happens if I don’t use all the money that I loaded onto my wristband cashless account?

All credit left unredeemed by 9am September 1, 2014 will be refunded in accordance with the terms below:

Cash equivalent of remaining credit will be credited back to Credit/Debit card subject to $5 handling fee by September 30, 2014. Cash equivalent of any bonuses received will not be refunded.

Visitors who purchase credit using cash will be required to fill out an online form with your full name, wristband number, bank name, bank account number and bank ACH routing number by 11:59pm Friday September 10, 2014. Subject to accurate input of the online form, cash equivalent of remaining credit less $5 handling fee will be refunded via an online transfer by September 30, 2014.

Any complimentary/bonus credits provided by the Event free of charges will not be eligible for refund after the Event.
