Electric Zoo is now a cashless festival! This means you don’t have to dig around for crumpled bills and loose change in your pockets or bag (or shoes!), because you pay for everything at the festival by simply tapping your wristband to a scanner. It also means the cashiers don’t have to spend time counting out change, which adds up to shorter lines and more time spent listening to your favorite artists and hanging out with your friends!
The official currency of Electric Zoo is called “EZ Bucks”. Whenever you load money onto your Electric Zoo wristband it will be automatically converted into EZ Bucks. EZ Bucks is its own currency, and it has a currency conversion rate: 9 EZ Bucks equals $10 USD.
To ensure your experience at Electric Zoo is stress-free from the moment you arrive, it’s important to be wristband-ready! Wristband-ready means that you’ve watched the public service announcement video and validated your wristband, registered your wristband to claim it as yours and not someone else’s, and loaded it up with EZ Bucks. All in all, the process to becoming wristband ready takes about 10 minutes. Follow these steps to achieve wristband readiness!
1. Validate your wristband
REQUIRED FOR FESTIVAL ENTRY
In order to validate your wristband, you must first watch a public service announcement video. After the video has ended you will be asked to provide the 6-digit code on the back of the wristband, directly below the barcode. Once you have submitted this information, your wristband will be validated.
2. Register your wristband
When the public service announcement video ends, continue on to wristband registration.
Registering your wristband allows us to provide you with better customer support in case your wristband is lost or stolen, because we can identify which wristband is yours based on your name and email address. It also provides you with a chance to participate in giveaways and special deals from us and our sponsors, and take advantage of some fun stuff that ties in to your social media account just by scanning your wristband at the festival. Plus, for your safety, you can also specify an emergency contact.
3. Top Up with EZ Bucks
To add EZ Bucks to your wristband (aka “topping up”), you’ll just need to fill out a brief form to create your account, link your wristband to your account, then click on the TOP UP option, and follow the instructions to load your wristband with EZ Bucks – quick and easy!
While loading your wristband you’ll have the option to enroll in auto top-ups. This links your wristband to your credit/debit card on file which will keep your balance topped up automatically when the balance falls below 20 EZ Bucks. That way you can just set it and forget it, and you won’t have to top-up manually if your balance runs low. Any remaining credit on your wristband will be refunded to you, subject to a $5 handling fee.
Bonus Incentive: All festival-goers who choose to add $100 USD (90 EZ Bucks) to their wristbands by 11:59pm August 28, 2014 will receive a bonus of 5 EZ Bucks.
Once you’ve finished these steps, you’re fully wristband ready! Now begin the process of mentally preparing to have the time of your life!
IMPORTANT TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION
Remember! If you register TWO wristbands to a single account, they will share the balance. If you deactivate your wristband, you will have to swap it for a new one at customer service. The DEACTIVATE button is a kill-switch in case you lose your bracelet containing money. So do not press this button unless you mean it.
If you are having trouble registering your wristband, try reversing the Cashless Registration ID and the barcode ID (entering them in opposite locations). We may have had a data error but we promise to get you registered!
If you have any other problems please do not hesitate to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR WRISTBANDS IN HAND, YOU CANNOT TOP-UP BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE FESTIVAL
There will be many locations inside the festival where you can add cash or credit to your wristband. Don’t forget to register online or through our Mobile App before Monday 9/29 so you can request a refund for CASH top-ups (credit will automatically be refunded).
If you did not receive a confirmation an email right away there can be a delay and don’t forget to check your spam folder.
IF YOU PURCHASED A FRIDAY FLASH DEAL OR A TICKET THROUGH THE PHYSICAL NETWORK
If you purchased an Electric Zoo ticket that came with a festival credit, you should have received an email containing a promotional code. You can enter your promotional code here! If you have not received your promotional code, please check your spam filter, if it is not there contact the company you purchased a pass through so they can help you retrieve your festival credit.
IF YOU CANNOT REGISTER YOUR WRISTBAND (RFID ERROR, INCORRECT SECURITY CODE, ETC.)
Please make sure you are inputting the numbers without error. If that does not work, please try swapping the numbers. If you are still having issues, you can top-up at a station located within the festival. You can also email email@example.com the two codes on the back of your bracelet.
This Labor Day Weekend, you along with thousands of other fans will make your way to Randall’s Island Park for Electric Zoo. Your enjoyment and safety are the top priorities at Electric Zoo and they should be for you and your crew too. Please watch out for each other, and know that help is all around you. If you see someone slip, trip, or overheat, someone who needs medical attention, rehydration, or just a helping hand, please keep the positive vibe alive, and be a friend to a friend in need.
Electric Zoo strongly advocates against the use of drugs. Avoiding drug use is the only way to completely avoid drug-related risks. You don’t need drugs anyway when world class music is swirling all around you. Know that mixing drugs and alcohol, or frequent and increased use, will increase your risks of life-threatening problems. Stay safe, stay hydrated, take frequent breaks, remember to eat, and you will successfully pull off having the time of your life!
Also, remember to practice moderation. If you’re tired stop dancing and if you’re thirsty drink water, but know that water alone won’t be enough to fuel your body and replenish the electrolytes you lose when you dance. Staying well fed and throwing in a sports drink or coconut water will keep your body well-nourished and in prime condition to dance into the night!
If you suspect that someone is ailing from a medical issue or the overuse of drugs or alcohol, seek immediate medical attention. Keep an eye out for these signs and symptoms in yourself and others, if you or a friend experience even just one sign seek medical help immediately!
- Blurred Vision
- Inability to talk
- Racing Heartbeat
- Muscle tremors
- Discolored lips or nail-beds
- Shallow breathing
Always keep in mind, if you require medical aid, then tell the medical staff everything because it may save your life!
There will be 2 Help Centers in the middle of the festival field marked with an icon and 4 medical aid stations marked with a red cross surrounding the site, all staffed with water and sports drinks if you need them. You will also find smiling faces wearing Zookeeper shirts with the icon on them walking around the site with water and electrolytes for you. There will be high speed free water stations on the East and West side of the field where you can fill up on water and free electrolytes.
Check out the map on the Electric Zoo app, festival booklet or neon pink HELP flyer that you can obtain as you enter the festival – and take a moment to familiarize yourself with these areas.

Over the past week we have received an outpouring of feedback on our decision to prohibit bringing Camelbaks into the festival. We hear you, and we fully acknowledge your concerns.
Unfortunately due to legitimate safety issues surrounding Camelbak use, our decision is not one we can compromise on. At the same time, we’re not willing to compromise on your health. Therefore, we’d like to clarify the extra measures we’ve taken this year to ensure you’re well hydrated at Electric Zoo, and hopefully alleviate some of your concerns.
- You will be allowed to bring in an empty clear plastic bottle to the festival.
- We’ve added another high-speed free water station to the festival site, and closer to Main Stage West, for a total of three. There you can grab some water using cups provided, as well as fill any vessel that you may have.
- One of our sponsors, T-Mobile, will be giving away thousands of clip-on reusable water pouches that you can pick up for use at the water stations.
- Water and electrolytes will also be available for free at the four medical tents around the festival grounds, as well as the two Help Centers. While we encourage you to take occasional breaks with a walk over to the water stations or these other facilities, there will also be a number of ‘ZooKeepers’ that will be able to provide water and electrolytes to those in the crowd.
Your health and safety has always been and remains our top priority. We hope these measures will put you at ease in regards to hydration at Electric Zoo. We look forward to seeing you soon!
+ Exclusive Electric Zoo Countdown DJ Mix
Henry Fong’s big-room progressive and electro-house sound, coupled with his precise DJ skills, has launched him as one of the best new acts around. After making a splash in New York earlier this year during Made Event’s Bingo Beach show, Henry returns to NYC this Labor Day Weekend for a Main Stage West set at Electric Zoo!
Henry’s musical ambitions began after college graduation, when producing & DJing grew from merely a hobby to a way of life. Now calling LA home, the young producer has been on a production rampage with tracks on OWSLA, Hysteria, Revealed, and more while his music has seen support from fellow Electric Zoo 2014 artists Armin Van Buuren, Bingo Players and Knife Party, just to name a few. Get ready to dance at Randall’s Island Park with our newest Electric Zoo Countdown Mix by Henry Fong here and stay tuned as you can expect to see much more from Fong in 2014 and beyond!

Something truly magical happens on Randall’s Island every Labor Day Weekend. It’s an array of moments that defines Electric Zoo and exemplifies the impact this music has on our lives. Listening to the chants and roars coming from the ferry as Randall’s Island comes into view.
Bearing witness to strangers cloaked in their animal personas with magnetic personalities and passionate dance moves as they form new friendships in the Garden of EZ or that moment when tens of thousands of charismatic and unique Zoo Animals lose control at the drop of a beat.
These are just a few of the moments that carry us through 362 days of the year until we’re home at Randall’s Island once more.
2014 is gearing up to be as unforgettable as every year prior and we can’t wait to see what moments you have in store for us next! See you Labor Day Weekend!
